"Maritime Warfare and Merchant-Shipping: a summary of the rights of capture at sea," was written by Douglas Owen, and published in 1897, in London,
by Stevens and Sons, Ltd. In its preface, the author stated that this handbook (following the publication of a larger more expansive book on the
topic) focused on the right of capture at sea, both as it stands under the law of nations and as modified by the Declaration of Paris.
