Webb, The question whether a Jew born within the British Dominions is capable by law to purchase land, 1753
The question, whether a Jew born within the British Dominions was, before the making the late act of Parliament, a person capable by law to purchase
and hold lands to him and his heirs, fairly stated and considered: by Philip Carteret Webb, 48+27p., London, Printed for J. Roberts, 1753. (A
pamphlet by a Gentleman of Lincoln’s Inn, who was identified as English barrister Philip Webb, argues that Jews born in Great Britain should be able to
purchase land and that a bill recently passed by Parliament is contrary to the principles of freedom. The appendix contains copies of public records, many
in Latin, relating to Jews. )
