through the Foreign & Commonwealth Office with responsible self-government. The new constitution that was introduced following the present conference
was introduced on 8 June, 1968. It provided for cabinet- style governance, with the appointed governor being responsible for external affairs, defense,
internal security and the constabulary; an appointed Senate and an elected House of Assembly; and a Premier and Cabinet drawn from the majority party
in the Assembly.)
