Titles and documents relating to the seigniorial tenure; In return to an address of the Legislative Assembly, 1851: n.a., 490p, Quebec, pr. by E.R.
Fréchette, 1852. (The legislative request, to which this document and a related volume {Que, New France, Tenure Seigneuriale, Edits, etc. re., 1852;
available elsewhere on this site} respond, is for “copies of all Octrois, Deeds of Concession or Grants made, and to be found in the Archives or Public
records of the Province, of the various Fiefs and Seigniories in ‘La Nouvelle France,’ or Canada, from the earliest settlements thereof to the cession
of the same in 1763 … and also of those made since that period …together with all such legal opinions, official and public documents relating to the
Seigniorial or Feudal Tenure, or to the commutation of abolition thereof … which His Excellency may deem to be necessary to the proper understanding
of the relative rights of Seigniors and Censitaires ….” The documents included in this English-language version include the title grants and
concessions made by the Intendants, taken from the Indentants’ Registers, and translated into English. An Alphabetical Table of the grants and concessions
arranged by name of grantee is provided on pages 463–490.)
