Lefroy, 1913, Canada's Federal System
Canada’s Federal System; Being a treatise on Canadian constitutional law under the British North American Act: by A. (Augustus) H.F. Lefroy,
lxviii+898p, Toronto, Carswell Co., 1913. “To describe this book as a second edition of {the following title The Law of the Legislative Power…} would be
misleading. Although I have endeavored to retain the principal features of that work, I have entirely re-written it, and greatly altered the arrangement.
My main idea here has been first to set out, explain and illustrate all such general principles of construction of the provisions of the British North
American Act as are derivable from the authorities, and then to discuss seriatim the various law-making powers of the Dominion parliament and the
provincial legislatures in the light of those principles, concluding with a discussion of the provisions of the Act relating to the public property of the
Dominion and the provinces respectively.)
