1846 report by the North Carolina House of Commons Committee of Finance regarding the memorial of the president and directors of the Wilmington and
Raleigh Rail Road Company. The letter requested an extension of credit on the debt owed to the State Literary Fund (which funded common schools), as
the railroad was unable to meet its debts. The Committee attached a recommended bill so granting this extension. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of
