Chancellor Farnsworth resigned in 1842, he was succeeded by Chancellor Manning for the period 1842–1846. Manning then resigning, Farnsworth returned to
service briefly until the abolition of Michigan's separate Chancery Court effective Mar. 1, 1847. Walker's reports cover both Manning's opinions and
those of Farnsworth during his brief second term.)
