Secretary of the Commonwealth. Communication concerning funds to be apportioned to schools, 1840
Senate No. 17 On January 25, 1840, the Secretary of State and the Treasurer reported they did not have the data to apportion the school fund. The
Board of Education had decided to change the census gathering to the fall, so the data to determine the apportionment would not be available until
much later. Did the Legislature want to offer any guidance, or would this be the new normal? (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held
