SEE ALSO 56450 Forty-fourth Legislature. House. No. 22. The Committee on the Judiciary submitted: An Act providing for the taxation of the
property and stock of national banks and banking associations in the State of Maine, 1865. All bank real estate would be taxed the same way as other real
estate was taxed. [There are several illegible hand-written corrections on the document.] Bank stock would be taxed as personal property. There were
directions for assessors to create records of those who should be taxed, and for computing the tax. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title
