Forty-third Legislature. Senate. No. 7 The Committee on the Judiciary submitted: An Act requiring additional duties and providing for an increase of
the salaries of the justices of the supreme judicial court, 1864. In the middle of the year, all the justices were to meet in Augusta to consider
all questions of law and equity that had not yet been decided that year. Their salaries would be $2,500 per year, paid quarterly. (Digitized from a
