Forty-third Legislature. House. No. 32. An Act relating to the choice and duties of town auditors of accounts, 1864. At its annual meeting, each town was to elect was to elect three auditors. Once a year, all who spent money on the town's behalf had to submit their accounts to the auditors. The auditors could approve or reject expenditures; their report was printed for the use of people at the next town meeting. The electors could approve or reject the report.
