SEE ALSO 56093 Forty-third Legislature. House. No. 30. Five men of the Joint Select Committee on Capital Punishment submitted: An Act in addition
to section seven of chapter one hundred thirty-five of the Revised Statutes relating to the execution of sentence in capital cases, 1864. As soon as
the sentence was pronounced in a capital case, the record of the case was to be sent to the Governor. He had one year to set a date for execution,
which had to take place more than one year after sentence. The sentence could be commuted or pardon issued in that time. The burden was on the
