The railway was authorized to extend its tracks to the boundary with New Brunswick and even to Woodstock if New Brunswick would agree. It could run branches to Houlton, Saint John River, Katahdin Iron Works, and could buy or lease the Aroostook Railroad. There was a timeline for the route and construction.
