Fortieth Legislature. House. No. 7. The Committee on Railroads, Ways and Bridges presented: An Act to authorize the City of Bath to lend further
aid in the construction of the Androscoggin Railroad, 1861. Bath was authorized to lend up to $200,000, but the railroad and the local voters had to
approve. The railroad had to post a bond for the money and there were directions about how to handle the scrip. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of
