Senate. Comm. on Railroads. Act in addition to an act to incorporate the Aroostook Railroad Company, 1860
SEE ALSO 56417 Thirty-ninth Legislature. Senate. No. 20. The Committee on Railroads submitted: An Act in addition to an act to incorporate the
Aroostook Railroad Company, 1860. Forty-eight men were incorporated as above to build a railroad from Bangor to an unnamed place in Aroostook County.
The company had to abide by the rules in Chapter 51 of the Revised Statutes. It was allowed up to 30,000 shares of stock and when it had sold at least
500 shares to ten or more men, it could begin activity. Toll was granted and the company could buy existing railroads; there were directions for
that. The survey had to be finished by December 1863 and construction well underway by late 1868. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally
held by the Library of Congress).
