Joint Standing Comm. on Railroads, Ways and Bridges. Act to incorporate the "Maine Steam Road-Carriage Company", 1860
Thirty-ninth Legislature. Senate. No.18. The Joint Standing Committee on Railroads, Ways, and Bridges submitted: An Act to incorporate the Maine
Steam Road-Carriage Company, 1860. Three men were incorporated as above with the usual rights and responsibilities. They were to have exclusive
rights for twelve years to use steam power to move vehicles on the roads. There were rules for toll. The company had to organize and actually have the
system at work within two years. [One would wish for an explanation of how the system worked.] (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally
held by the Library of Congress).
