Thirty-ninth Legislature. Senate. No. 11. The Committee on Interior Waters submitted: An Act to incorporate the Damariscotta Water Power Company,
1860. Forty men were incorporated as above, subject to the usual powers and liabilities, to operate a textile mill. The company could have capital up
to $500,000. The act noted the location of the dam, buildings, etc.; the company had to build suitable locks for river traffic. Certain local towns
would vote on the need for fishways. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
