Thirty-sixth Legislature. House. No. 15. On February 2, 1857, a Committee on Pay and Law Revision for Clerks was directed to consider the pay of
government clerks. On March 3, 1857, the Committee submitted a list of salaries for assistants and clerks. There was no way to tell if the figures
were different from the current rate of pay. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
