Attorneys General's Reports, 1853-
|
|
1853- Reports of the Attorney General of Louisiana: Mostly annual between 1853-1881, biennial thereafter, Montgomery, state printer, 1854–. (Although
there were territorial precedents, it was the statehood Constitution of 1812 that provided for the Office of Attorney General of the State of
Louisiana. A law of 1853 provided for periodic reports from the A.G. to the Governor. These reports contained A.G. opinions through the report of 1922/24.
Thereafter the opinions were published separately, while the publication of the matter usual to the A.G. reports was made part of a new state
publication called Statistical Reports; which is not yet offered on this site. However the opinions volume for 1932-34 restarted the practice of including the
biennial reports matter. The fact that in many of the states there were differing patterns of publication for the A.G reports and opinions makes for a
confusing literature. To minimize confusion in its online offerings, LLMC has chosen to group all of the U.S. state attorney generals’ reports and
