Improving Federal Court Library System, Report and Recommendations submitted to the Judicial Conference of the U.S. by the Board of the Federal
Judicial Center: xxix+110p, Washington, FJC, Feb. 1978. (In late 1975 the FJC commissioned a major study of the federal judiciary library system. Conducted
between Jan. 1976 and Oct. 1977 by Raymond M. Taylor, a professional law librarian, it resulted in Federal Court Library Study, Report &
Recommendations, 244p, 19 appendices & 14 supplemental reports; the whole totaling over 2,000 pages. Although not issued as an FJC publication, the report is
summarized in this text. Subsequent to the receipt of the Taylor Report, staff of the FJC, assisted by a judiciary-wide Library Study Advisory Committee,
performed their own observations and study. This text summarizes the main recommendations distilled from this lengthy study process.)
