Decisions of the Maritime Subsidy Board, Maritime Administration, Department of Commerce: Vol. 1-5, 1961-81, published by direction of the Maritime
Subsidy Board and The Maritime Administration, Wash., GPO, 1965-82, all published. Cite as 1 MA 1 (1961). (Reorganization Plan No. 7 of 1961 {eff. 12
Aug. 1961}, abolished the Federal Maritime Board (FMB) and created the Federal Maritime Commission FMC, to which was transferred the FMB’s regulatory
functions. The award of subsidies etc. for the U.S. Merchant Marine also became the responsibility of the Secretary of Commerce, who established the
Maritime Subsidy Board within the Maritime Administration to carry out this function. The predecessor to the present series of decisions was a
publication entitled in its volumes 1-6 as Decisions of the Federal Maritime Board and Federal Maritime Administration; see the FMB Reports, elsewhere on this
site. The decisions of the Federal Maritime Commission occurring subsequent to 1961, the start of the present set, are included in Vol. 7 onwards of a
continuation of the Federal Maritime Board series beginning with Volume 7. )
