Emergency legislation passed prior to December, 1917, dealing with the control and taking of private property for the public use, benefit, or
welfare: Presidential proclamations and Executive orders thereunder, to and including January 31, 1918: to which is added a reprint of analogous legislation
since 1775: collected, annotated, and indexed by J. Reuben Clark, Jr., x+1150p., Washington, Government Printing Office, 1918. (A collection of
provisions of what is called “war legislation” dealing with the taking and the control of private property for public use. Some statutes not strictly
considered emergency legislation have been included because they are closely connected with certain phases of the conduct of the war. Part II contains
proclamations of the President under current statutes, 1917-1918; Part III contains executive orders of the President under current statutes, 1917-1918;
Part IV contains acts and resolves of the Continental Congress taken from the Journals of the Continental Congress; Part V contains statutes passed by
the states during the revolutionary war; Part VI contains federal statutes of the War of 1812 and the War of 1847; Part VII contains statutes of the
Civil War period. The table of contents begins on P.iii and an index begins on p.1077.)
