Decisions of the United States courts involving copyright and literary property: title varies, Copyright Office Bulletins No. 13–, published under
the auspices of the Copyright Office, Library of Congress, Wash., GPO, 1914. (The history of this publication is a bit garbled. In the beginning it was
piggybacked upon an unrelated prior series of “Bulletins” issued by the Copyright, a series in which each bulletin covered a separate topic and was
pretty much a stand-alone publication. Starting with Bulletin No. 17, the series was re-devoted to covering decisions of the United States courts,
with No. 17 covering cases for the years 1909 to 1914. Subsequent numbers of the Bulletins up to at least Bulletin No. 48 continued the coverage to at
least 1984. It is not known if subsequent bulletins will be issued by the Copyright Office. The Bulletin-17-forward portion of the series was later
enhanced by an index volume covering Bulletins 17-37, 1909-1970. After the Bulletin-17-forward portion of the series had been issued for some time, the
Copyright Office undertook a retrospective project covering judicial and administrative decisions concerning copyright going back to the year of
appointment of the first Register of Copyright; i.e. from 1789-1909. This retrospective set {published by the GPO in 1980} is comprised of three volumes
plus index. To ensure that these four books would fall on the shelves at the front of the series starting with Bulletin No. 17, they were entitled
Copyright Bulletins 13 through 16. {Unfortunately and confusingly, the Bulletin numbers 13-16 had formerly been assigned to other unrelated matter, but
those earlier publications were “suppressed.”} Therefore, the full run of this title as now constituted is Copyright Office Bulletins No. 13 through 48,
covering the years 1789 through 1984. To make the materials more easily useable on line, LLMC has elected to arrange the volumes according to the
concluding year of each time period covered by the volume.)
