Selden Society, The justices in eyre for Yorkshire, 1218-1219
Rolls of the justices in eyre : being the rolls of pleas and assizes for Yorkshire in 3 Henry III 1218-19: edited by Doris Mary Stenton, lvi + 577
p., London: Bernard Quaritch, 1937. ( Three rolls of the record of the cases before the justices in eyre in York and Newcastle for the years 1218 and
1219. The primary reason the Seldon Society selected this period was that Henry de Bracton used these rolls and refers to some of these cases in his
collection of cases decided in the King's Courts during the Reign of Henry the Third. The table of contents is on p.ix, an Index of Names and Places
begins on p.431, and an Index of Matters begins on p.505. The beginning of the volume indicates this is Volume LVI of the publications of the Selden
Society for the year 1937.)
