seeking a remedy for grievances from commissioners appointed by the King to handle such disputes. The majority of the bills in this collection were
presented in the Shropshire, Staffordshire, and Lincolnshire Eyres. The bills are in Old French with Latin notes and an English translation. Appendices
contain notes from two unedited yearbooks of the Eye of Derbyshire and some general observations on bills in Eyre. An Index of Matters begins on p.163
and an Index of persons and places begins on p.166.)
