Pamphlet of the Harvard lecture delivered by J. Murray Clark on "Why the Lawes of Virginia." The lecture was reprinted from the "Virginia Law Register, Vol. VI, N.S., No. 2, June, 1920. Clark discussed why the Virginia Lawes (in a still British colony) were chosen in 1721 to be followed as the legal guide in the area of Canada east of then French Canada, rather than the closer New England colonies.
