The Law and Custom of the Constitution, by Sir William R. Anson. Published in two volumes by the Clarendon Press (Oxford 1886, 1892). This set is published in two parts: Part I, The Parliament, including an historical outline, the House of Commons, House of Lords, and conflict with the Crown (xix + 336 p.); and Part II, The Crown, including the prerogative of the Crown, the Councils, Cabinet, House of Lords and Privy Council, the departments of government and ministers, and relationships to colonies, foreign governments, the armed forces and the courts (xxiv + 494 p.). Each volume contains a table of contents, index, and preface. Part I include an index of statutes. Part II includes appendices.
