Willis. Report of W. Willis on the Washington County Bank, 1841
|
|
February 1841 Report of William Willis, Bank Commissioner, regarding the Washington County Bank. After examination, Willis concluded that out-of-state speculators had received extensive credit from the bank; he suggested a strict limitation on credit to nonresidents to avoid insolvency and other issues. Of note, the governor concurred in his transmittal letter to the legislature. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
