Commissioners to Examine the Banks. Report on Citizens' Bank, Augusta, 1841
|
|
February 6, 1841 report of the Bank Commissioners regarding the Citizens' Bank in Augusta, Maine, transmitted to the legislature for review. Of note, a correspondence from Daniel Pike was also included, in which he stated he was erroneously included as a director of that bank. The report determined that there was a purchase of that charter, originally by Maine subscribers, to "foreign" purchasers, as found in an included statement of the residence of stockholders. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
