1833-01-24, Supreme Court opinion of a Constitutional Convention
House No. 17 On January 24, 1833, the Supreme Judicial Court responded to questions from the Legislature. There had been some sentiment for having
a Constitutional Convention wherein several unnamed parts of the Constitution could be amended. The Court was of the opinion that the only way to
amend the Constitution was laid out in Article 9, so there was no way to have a Constitutional Convention without specifying which articles could be
amended. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
