House No. 5 An Abstract of the returns of the several registers of probate ... 1828-1830 .... This was to give the Legislature an idea of how much work each office did. Each page was a table. On the left was the name of a county, with a line for each year. Under each county was a line called Average that averaged all three years of data in each column. Across the top of the page were the names of the columns: Letters of Administration, Letters Testamentary, Accounts Rendered, Inventories, Miles Traveled, Days Attended, Warrants for Dower, and finally the Amount of Inventories in dollars. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
