SEE ALSO 51957 Senate No. 2 Supreme Judicial Court March term 1830. Joseph Sewall, Treasurer v. T.K. Jones, et al. The Commonwealth sued the
auctioneer for failure to pay duty on a sale. There was an auction of a five year lease on several buildings; the winner promised the most rental income.
The court ruled that title to the property had not changed hands, so no duty was owed. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by
