House. Comm. on Elections. Hubbard-Hammond contested election, 1866
|
|
Forty-fifth Legislature. House. No. 35. The Committee on Elections had received a petition from T. H. Hubbard of North Berwick in York County to be seated as a representative. The Committee considered the depositions submitted and decided Hubbard had no case. However, the minority report spent fifteen and a half pages considering the usual issues of legal and illegal votes and who lived where and when to conclude that Hubbard had won by two votes. The minority submitted a Resolve in favor of T. H. Hubbard.
