Description and Holding Information
Senate. Act to establish the Bangor Wet Dock Company, 1864
Forty-third Legislature. Senate, No. 12. An Act to establish the Bangor Wet Dock Company, 1864. Seven men were incorporated as above to build and
maintain a wet dock in connection with the European and North American Railroad. The company would build a dam on the Kenduskeag River in Bangor and a
basin above the dam, presumably to facilitate loading goods from boats onto railroad cars to go out to the world. The company could charge for its
services, but it had to maintain a twenty-four hour lock for boats to continue down river. $100,000 capital stock in $100 shares was allowed.
