Senate. Comm. on Railroads, Ways and Bridges. Act to incorporate the Brewer Branch Railroad Company, 1864
|
|
Forty-third Legislature. Senate. No. 10. The Committee on the Railroads, Ways, and Bridges submitted: An Act to incorporate the Brewer Branch Railroad Company, 1864. Five men were incorporated as above to build a railroad to connect with the European and North American Railroad in Bangor, including Brewer's Village. The group had to follow all the rules for corporations. It could build a dam at Treat's Falls to use the water power and construct wharves in the Penobscot River. It could charge a toll. It could connect with other railroads under certain conditions. It had to complete the railroad by January 1874.
