House. Comm. on Agriculture. Report on repealing the tax on dogs, 1863
Forty-second Legislature. House. No. 11. Report of the Committee on Agriculture re the tax on dogs. An Act concerning the keeping of dogs, and
protection of sheep, 1863. All dogs had to be registered and wear a marked collar. The responsibilities of the owner were defined; there were
significant fines for not restraining a dog. The rights of those whose stock was damaged by a dog were defined. Any uncollared dogs were to be killed, no
questions asked. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
