SEE ALSO 56250 Thirty-ninth Legislature. Senate. No. 23. The Committee on the Militia submitted: An Act additional to Chapter ten of the Revised
Statutes, relating to the militia, 1860. There could only be 2,000 members of the regular militia. Towns had to accept legal responsibility for
the equipment. There was a list of payments for training days for all ranks and there were directions for the cumbersome system of payment. (Digitized
