Thirty-ninth Legislature. Senate. No. 21. The Joint Standing Committee on Railroads, Ways, And Bridges submitted: An Act to authorize the City of
Bangor to aid in the construction of the Aroostook Railroad, 1860. The City could obligate itself to the tune of $14,000 per mile. There were
directions for setting up the payments, directions about making payments, and directions for taking over the railroad if the company failed. Both the City
and the Railroad had to vote yes for the act to take effect. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of
Congress).
