Senate. Comm. on Banks and Banking. Act in addition to an act to incorporate the Norombega Bank, 1860
SEE ALSO 56167 Thirty-ninth Legislature. Senate. No. 8. The Committee on Banks and Banking submitted: An Act in addition to an act to incorporate
the Norumbega Bank, 1860. The officers of the bank were restored to the rights of its charter, with the receivers vacated IF, with in thirty days,
the bank filed a $200,000 penal bond with the State Treasurer. That money would fund the claims from aggrieved customers while the bank gathered its
assets and paid its debts preparatory to closing the corporation. If the bank did not put up the bond, the receivers would seize all assets, pay off
creditors, and close the bank. There were half a dozen amendments of various sizes. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the
