House. Act to establish the County of Knox, 1860
Thirty-ninth Legislature. House. No. 14. An Act to establish the county of Knox, 1860. Fifteen towns and two plantations in Lincoln County would
now be in Knox County. The shire town [county seat] would be Rockland. The court calendar was laid out and civil and criminal processes arranged.
The Governor would appoint several officers to serve until elections were held. Rockland had to provide courthouse facilities until 1863. There were
directions on how to handle any debt of the two plantations. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
