Thirty-sixth Legislature. House. No. 3. An Act to establish the Portland and Oxford Central Railroad Company, 1857. Fifteen men were incorporated
as above, subject to the obligations of Chapter 81 of the Revised Statutes, listing a rough route from Portland to Minot. The capital allowed was
$80,000. The company was allowed a toll, had to carry mail, and cooperate with other railroads. If the company were not organized by 1860, or had not
completed its track by 1868, the charter was void.

Railroad Company, 1857. Fifteen men were incorporated as above, subject to Chapter 81 of the Revised Statutes, to lay out a route and construct a
railroad from a junction with the York and Cumberland Railroad to a junction with the Buckfield Branch Railroad in Minot. The allowed capital was $80,000;
the company was allowed a toll, had to carry mail, and cooperate with other railroads. Construction could not begin until the company had in hand at
least half the cost estimated for construction. The company had to be organized by the end of December 1860 and have completed work by the end of
1868.
