March 25, 1845 Report of the Joint Select Committee regarding the infraction of the Treaty of Washington and various accompanying papers. After much
discussion, the committee proposed resolves which stated that the New Brunswick duties on lumber of Main floated down the St. John Rivers was
fraudulent, and that the federal government should reimburse any money paid; stating that the federal government should protect the citizens of Maine from
