Gov. Scott's objections to the Occupying Claimants' Law, 1822
1822 Letter from Virginia Governor Randolph transmitting to the Virginia House of Delegates a copy of Kentucky Governor Charles Scott 1811 letter to
the House of Representatives of that commonwealth, against the bill amending the an act regarding the occupying claimants of land. Among his
objections were the use of "supposing" regarding good title in the first section of the bills, as vague and not provable. The governor thereafter stated
other objections for the passage of this bill. See LLMC# 22335 and 22338 for related documents. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally
