Description and Holding Information
1832, Convention journal (MS)
1832 manuscript of the "Nullification" Constitutional Journal. Of note, the members of this convention ultimately declared the federal Tariff Acts
of 1828 and 1832 unconstitutional and void in the state and forced collection could lead to secession. This ultimately set up a confrontation between
the federal and state government, which ultimately was resolved in 1833. See LLMC # 21126-31 for related documents. (Digitized from a microfilm copy
of title originally held by the Historical Commission of South Carolina).
