A number of conditional and other documents published in 1865 in Raleigh, North Carolina. These documents consisted of: the 1776 Declaration of
Rights and Constitution of North Carolina; 1835 Amendments (which prevented freed Negroes or those of mixed blood from voting for members of the state
Senate or House of Commons); the 1857 Amendment, act and proclamation (removing freeholder requirement to voting); and 1865 ordinances and resolutions
following the Civil War (nullifying the Confederate Constitution of 1861 and prohibiting slavery). (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles
originally held by the University of North Carolina Library in Chapel Hill).
