1832-02-22, Gray, Oration on the 100th Anniversary of the birth of George Washington
Oration delivered before the legislature of Massachusetts at their request on the hundredth anniversary of the birth of George Washington by Francis
C. Gray. Boston : Dutton and Wentworth, 1832. Rev. Gray's speech took 72 pages. He discussed the feelings in the country when Washington died and
then presented a history of the man and his times, with special emphasis on the difficulties faced in trying to create a nation from multiple jealous
states. Toward the end, he talked some about Washington as a man. Pages 78-80 was a copy of the celebration program--Bible verses and hymns.
