April 4, 1731 Broadside issued by Gov. Jonathan Belcher of the Massachusetts Bay Province. The proclamation delineated the process for shipowners to
receive compensation for any losses from plundering by pirates (mostly Spanish) of their ships while in the West Indies. (Digitized from a microfilm
copy of title originally held by the New York Historical Society Library c. 1), and the Massachusetts Historical Society Library (c.2)).
