Description and Holding Information
1841-03-27, Connecticut and Alabama resolves on protection of American industry [Mass. doc.]
Senate No. 44 Alabama wanted to protect the interests of her cotton farmers, while Connecticut wanted protection for its many mechanics, so the
states were diametrically opposed. The Massachusetts legislature had nothing to say at that time. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally
held by the Library of Congress).
