May 12, 1756 Proclamation of Governor Stephen Hopkins ordering May 20th as a day of of fasting and prayer to in support of the monarchy, and protection from the Indians. Of note, this was copied from an original broadside at The Rhode Island Historical Society. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of a title originally held by the Massachusetts Historical Society Library (c.1), and the American Antiquarian Society Library in Worcester, Massachusetts (c.2)).
