September 6, 1776 broadside issued by Governor Jonathan Trumbull of Connecticut, proclaiming September 19th as a day of fasting and prayer to defend the colonists against Great Britain. Of note, this is the first use of "the State of Connecticut" in the proclamation by the governor.
